I just wanted to let everyone know that I enabled Twitter and Facebook integration for our APLING network. What does this mean? Two things, actually! The first thing is that you can connect your facebook and/or twitter account with your umbapling.ning.com account and you can then use your facebook or twitter account to logon (one less password to remember!)
The second thing that this integration enables is cross-posting. If you want to post something in both twitter and this network, you can check off the little twitter checkbox and your status update will also be sent your twitter account :-)

For the time being, you'd use mobile Safari to access http://boston.umassonline.net (aka Blackboard). It's not pretty, and not everything works, but most of the work gets done! I have brought up this issue with our service provider (UMass Online) and I was made chair of the Mobile Learning committee. As a result of that, we will be implementing Bb Mobile Learn in our new system that is coming this fall! I am working hard to get the necessary people on-board to get all of our Applied Linguistics courses on the new system so we can benefit from these advances :-) With a little luck, we will have Mobile Learn enabled on the new Blackboard this Fall. The current Blackboard (Bb Vista) won't have access to Mobile Learn, so the incentive is high to switch systems :) I plan on posting updates as we get things moving.
