Hello Graduate Students!
On behalf of the Graduate Student Assembly I would like to remind all of you of existing funding opportunities through your student governance as well as announce new initiatives and expansions on existing programs.
Spayne & Bollinger Thesis and Dissertation Grants (now doubled!)
Deadline: April 17th, up to 6 of each given at up to $1,500 each
There are still TWO WEEKS to apply for thesis/dissertation/capstone grants. The submission deadline is April 17th at 11:45pm. This semester only, we are increasing the maximum number of grants we give out from 3 to 6 for each type of grant (though the maximum amount per grant is unchanged), so your odds of approval are higher than ever before!
Professional Development Grants (now extended through June 10th!)
There are still ample funds available for students seeking to travel to conferences, and this semester only, GSA is extending the travel deadlines to June 10th 2016! The deadline for funding requests has also been extended to May 10th.
NEW: One-Day Training/Workshop Grant
GSA is piloting a new initiative this semester! We would like to pay for your registration fees (up to $500) for any one-day training or workshop events you may attend this semester or summer! Applications are rolling until June 10th.
NEW: Free Poster Printing through Quinn Graphics
GSA is also piloting a poster printing initiative this semester! Send us your finished (and carefully proofed) conference posters and GSA will pay for them to be printed by Quinn Graphics! Going to a conference in June or August? Sorry we can't fund the travel, but let us print your poster! The deadline for printing requests is May 11th.
Additionally, please visit our site and review our other existing programs such as the event-funding requests and the $500 non-thesis/dissertation research funding grant. https://gsaumb.wordpress.com/
The Graduate Student Assembly is very excited to be able to expand our funding initiatives this semester. Please take advantage of these offers so that we may demonstrate existing demand for services to the university and be more likely to continue such programs in years to come!
Lastly, please vote for next year's GSA executive committee through SA Groups
Kindly,
Your Graduate Student Assembly Executive Committee
